So much has happened in the few weeks since term started! We hosted events every night of Freshers’ Week, the Freshers’ Fayre, countless society events and served more burgers in The Main Bar Diner than we can even count! Watch our Freshers' Week round-up film below.

As well as evening events our societies and subcommittees spend Freshers’ Week encouraging new and returning students to join them. Browse through our albums which capture a few of these great events.

Oxfam
A Museum without a Home
North East Fife MP Stephen Gethins praised students for raising awareness of the refugee crisis when he visited a new exhibition hosted by the Oxfam Society.
The Museum without a Home exhibition is a touring exhibition by Oxfam and Amnesty International which showcases real items donated by Greek and British people to refugees and migrants. Objects on display include a kettle, colouring books, a cooking pot and a backpack: items that may appear mundane but are meaningful for the refugees who were given them by welcoming people in a strange new country.
St Andrews is the first university to host the exhibition, it ran until the end of September in Society Room D in the Union.

Volunteers
As we say again and again, the Union functions because of volunteers and without them we wouldn’t be the unique organisation we are. This is especially true during Freshers’ Week. From Box Office to the Freshers’ Fayre our dedicated volunteers work so hard.

updates in and around the building
We’ve updated our menu in The Main Bar. Due to popular demand we’ve added a new veggie pasta dish and curries to the menu AND we’ve extended our opening hours on a Sunday until even later to tie in with the Sunday night Pub Quiz.

We’ve brightened up some of our white walls with some great shots of our societies and subcommittees.
