6. Other ways to make your voice heard

Government evidence giving

The Scottish Government open up consultations on proposed legislation, which anyone can respond to, where you’ll be able to give your views to help inform the way the legislation could go. A recent example was the consultation around abortion buffer zones when the Bill was at Stage 1. This might not always be relevant, but it can be worth checking in on.  

Similarly, the UK Government open consultations on proposed legislation and policy, which you can also respond to. You may also be able to give evidence to select committees, which gather evidence on specific topics to help inform policy.

Join other campaigns

You might tag-on to campaigns from other charities/organisations, such as letter-writing campaigns. An example of this would be Rape Crisis Scotland’s ‘Survivors Can’t Wait’ campaign.
