Louise leads Mermaids to support performing arts.
Louise Anderbjork, as the Performing Arts Officer chairs, coordinates and oversees the running of the Mermaids Performing Arts fund as well as representing the student body on matters concerning the Performing Arts.
Specifically, the officer:
- Has responsibility for issues concerning non-academic matters within the theatre and wider performing arts community.
- Coordinates with the University to improve the experiences of students who partake in performing arts related activities.
- Convenes and chairs the President’s Forum.
- Convenes and chairs weekly in camera and public meetings of the Mermaids Performing Arts Fund
- Represents the views of the student performing arts community on the Byre Management Board, Student Drama Awards Committee and other relevant committees
- Sits on the Barron Subcommittee and provides advice when requested
- Serves on the Student Representative Council
- Serves as a signatory on the Mermaids Performing Arts Fund bank account and helps ensure funds are spent reasonably.
- Works with the Mermaids Performing Arts Fund to coordinate a number of show every semester as well as Fringe shows over the summer
- Sits on the Mermaids Christmas Ball subcommittee and provides advice when requested
- Works with Mermaids to organise a wide variety of theatre-related events and workshops
