Join the largest professionally conducted group in St Andrews for a concert bringing together the musical earth and heavens. The St Andrews Symphony Orchestra invites you to listen to the dancing rhythms of Márquez’s Danzon No. 2 featuring jazzy melodies as a new staple of the orchestral repertoire. We then feature the winner of the St Andrews concerto competition, Joe Atkinson, Grøndahl Trombone Concerto, adding the introspective and deeply human warmth of emotion. We will close with the iconic orchestral piece, Holst’s the Planets. With an expanded orchestra and chorus, we will bring our fascinations to the skies with an epic of grandeur and intrigue.
Tickets are: £10 (General Admission), £5 (Students), £1 (Music Society Members). Doors open 30 minutes before the concert starts and tickets will also be purchasable on entry, cash preferred.
