About Us

We are a society dedicated to fostering a community for all Pokemon fans, no matter how they came to enjoy the series, to come together for a variety of events and find friends. Whether it's the mainline games, various spin-offs, anime, TCG, or anything else, we hope you'll find something to enjoy here in a relaxed, inclusive, and fun environment. Our in-person events are weekly on Monday evenings, and embrace all sides of Pokemon to make events that are fun for everyone to get together and both enjoy the things they love about Pokemon and try entirely new experiences with it. We are also a very active society on our Discord server, accessible via the university society Discord hub and our Facebook page, with a vibrant online community that both stands on its own and exists as part of a Discord-based, UK-wide community of Pokemon Societies known as the Inter-University Pokemon Society.

Draft League

Every semester we host online Draft League events known as the Gastrodon Series. These are casual tournaments open to all our members that challenge participants to draft Pokemon early in the semester, and then as the weeks go on, build teams to face off against each other with teams of 6 built from their drafted squads, trying to outthink and outplay opponents a week at a time. These are undoubtedly one of our flagship events that bring people together like nothing else in Pokemon, and we make sure that whether you're a seasoned competitive Pokemon battler or a casual player looking to have a bit of fun there's always something to love and a community there to help you learn the game.
