Education Representative Awards
These awards are shortlisted by the Education Executive Team, which comprises of the Director of Education, the SRC Faculty Presidents, the Postgraduate Presidents, and the Academic Representation Interns.
School President of the Year
This award celebrates a School President who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate exceptional leadership, advocacy, and dedication in representing students within their academic school. Working collaboratively with faculty, this individual ensured student voices were heard in decision-making and drove meaningful improvements in students’ academic experience.
Outstanding Postgraduate Representative
This award is given to a postgraduate representative who has gone above and beyond to support their peers, liaise with faculty, and enhance the academic and research environment for postgraduate students. They’ve been instrumental in addressing concerns, cultivating a sense of community, and advocating for policies that benefit their cohort.
Outstanding Class Representative (Arts and Divinity)
This award recognises a class representative in the Arts and Divinity faculty who has made a significant impact in strengthening the dialogue between students and faculty. They effectively communicated feedback and facilitated positive changes within their cohort.
Outstanding Class Representative (Science/Medicine)
This award recognises a class representative in the Science and Medicine faculty who has made a significant impact in strengthening the dialogue between students and faculty. They effectively communicated feedback and facilitated positive changes within their cohort.
Outstanding Event
This award recognizes an event organised by one or more academic representatives. An event that has furthered a sense of community, encouraged academic dialogue, or strengthened employability prospects is particularly emphasized.
Outstanding Sustainability
This award is given to a project or a representative that has actively promoted and implemented initiatives to improve environmental responsibility within their academic community. This includes championing sustainability in academic policies, events, or student activities.
Outstanding Inclusivity
This award recognises an EDI project or representative that has supported inclusivity and diversity within their school. They’ve worked to ensure that all students feel valued, represented, and supported, actively addressing barriers to inclusivity in curriculum, policies, and student engagement.
Outstanding Accessibility
This award honours an accessibility project or representative that has made significant efforts to remove barriers to learning, advocated for inclusive teaching practices, and ensured that students with disabilities and other accessibility needs receive the support and accommodations they require.
