Think Venue 1, think the largest performance and club space in St Andrews. Home to the legendary ‘Bop!’ every Tuesday (free) and Friday (£3.50) night, along with the Union’s headlining events on other days, it’s where most big nights out eventually end up. When used in conjunction with the Beer Bar, you can even beat the Main Bar queues!

Venue 1 also regularly plays host to a much more diverse range of events than just the Bop - live music, theatre and performing arts, debates, lectures, large dinners, and more. In the past, it’s hosted everything from productions of ‘The History Boys’ to big-screen Champion’s League football!

Location: The northern half of the Students' Association building, on St Mary's Place, in the centre of St Andrews. On street level and easily accessible.

Capacity: 1000 standing (dance event), 800 standing (concert/gig), 350 seated.

Facilities & Equipment: Raked seating and extensive adaptable lighting fitted in situ.
