► Recycling in St Andrews

For a map of St Andrews showing all the recycling points in town click here.

Please remember that the recycling point at the union is open to ALL students.

We take paper, cardboard, glass, and plastic.

Why should you recycle?

Recycling benefits the environment not only by diverting waste from landfill, but also by saving the earth's resources in the first place; which are disappearing at an alarming rate.

You can help not only by recycling what you use but by only buying what you need. When you go to Tesco make sure you take your own bag with you to save waste of plastic bags, and have a look around to see if you could buy a similar product with less packaging.

Recycle and Re-use

Remember, if you no longer want something that could be re-used by someone else, whether that's old clothes that don't fit any more, teddies that could go to a good home, stationary, or DVDs you've got bored with, don't just chuck it.

There are so many charity shops in St Andrews which will happily take unwanted items from students to sell on. Not only are you giving your old stuff a happier fate than the dump but you're also raising money for charity. Win!!
