Charities 2012/2013
This annual event is organized by the University of St Andrews Charities Campaign, a subcommittee of the Students Association. Every year the students of St Andrews are given the opportunity to vote for six charities to be supported by the Campaign during the following academic year. All money raised by the Campaign, including from RAG Week (which contributes a very significant bulk of the total raised each year), is donated to the nominated charities.
The nominated charities for 2012-13 are:
Royal National Lifeboat Institution: http://www.rnli.org.uk/
Macmillan Cancer Support: http://www.macmillan.org.uk/
Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres: http://www.maggiescentres.org
Children's Hospice Association Scotland: http://www.chas.org.uk/
Medecins sans Frontieres: http://www.msf.org.uk
Familes First (St Andrews)
RAG Week also supports UNICEF: http://www.unicef.org/
UNICEF works in the UK to champion children’s rights, win support and raise money for our work with children everywhere. For over 60 years UNICEF has been the world’s leading organisation for children, working to help them survive and thrive from early childhood through adolescence.
All proceeds from the annual ‘St Andrews Got Talent’ will go to UNICEF through RAG Week’s partnership with St Andrews UNICEF on Campus.
